Arrived at Fresno International Airport (FAT) with all of our hiking gear and headed to Yosemite National Park.
First stop at Yosemite was the Wawona Ranger Station to pickup Backcountry Permit (permits need to be picked up
in person!) and to rent a bear proof food canister (Yosemite requirement!). We weren't expecting the bear can to be so large!
The bear can took up most of the space in our hike bags, so we stuffed the cans with as much stuff as we could.

Got a late 11AM start for our Hike to Chilnualna Falls in the Glacier Point area of Yosemite National Park.
Temperature was in the 40 degree range with cloudy skies. The hike to dispersed camping at the falls was 4.4 miles
with an elevation gain of ~2,200 feet. The hike terrain was easy peasy, however trail ascends the entire way with very
little flat sections of trail. Due to all the snow melt there was tons of water and the falls were rapidly flowing.
After afternoon temperatures in the 60 degree range, temperature dropped back down to 42 degress at sunset. With camp
setup we had Saturday set aside to explore the area with a planned Sunday hike out to catch our flight home. If you
rent a bear can from the Backcountry Office, don't forget to drop is off on you way out of the park!
